What Is Lipotherapy/Lipo-Dissolve?
Lipotherapy/Lipo-Dissolve is an exciting, new and simple non-surgical technique for ridding the body of unwanted fat deposits. Thin needles are used to inject deoxycholate into these areas. Deoxycholate is a naturally-occurring substance in the body and it causes a chemical reaction that safely dissolves fat. The fat is then excreted via normal bodily functions.

Is It Safe?
Yes. As of today, if this procedure is done by qualified and trained medical personnel, there have not been any reports of toxic or carcinogenic effects. Deoxycholate is one of the bile salts and has detergent action that aids in making dietary fats soluble for breakdown.

What Can I Expect After Treatment?
Immediate effects after treatment include localized redness, swelling, and some discomfort that is a sign that the chemicals are working. This reaction subsides after 1-3 days. You will also feel some lumpiness at the treatment site that also resolves after a few days, also a sign of the success of the treatment. Actual loss of fat is seen after three weeks and progresses with repeated injections.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The actual number of treatments depends on the area and amount of fat present. Expect from 2-4 treatments on average, however, up to 6 treatments may be required to achieve the desired result.

How Long Does It Last?
Studies have shown that you can expect years of fat loss in the treated areas provided you don't gain significant weight. Even if some weight is gained, it has been shown to accumulate less in those areas treated.

Does It Hurt?
The injections are given with a very thin and short needle that is inserted into fat deposits and are surprisingly painless. The reaction that follows is mildly to moderately uncomfortable and well-tolerated by all individuals. This discomfort improves each day and after about a week, is barely noticeable. You will be able to resume normal daily activities immediately following your treatment without restrictions.

How Long Does It Take To Receive Each Treatment?
Your first visit will include your free consultation and may take up to 30 minutes. Each visit thereafter will require much less time and could be easily completed over a lunch break with plenty of time left for eating.

When Should I Expect To See Results?
There is some evidence of fat loss seen after three weeks following your first treatment. With each subsequent treatment, results will show, but the final result may take up to 3 months, especially in areas of the body with larger fat deposits. Results are appreciated sooner in areas of smaller fat deposits such as the chin.
